New Scholarship Offered

The Memorial Committee is excited to announce the launch of the Carol A. Mounts Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship has been set up by the Mounts family through memorial monies given in memory of Carol to benefit qualified high school graduating seniors entering an accredited four-year institution who are active members of Central. If you are interested in applying, please see our Director of Youth Ministries (Kenny Hewins) or our Secretary (Ruth Lawson) for an application. The deadline is April 1^st. If you are interested in contributing to the scholarship fund, please see the Financial Secretary, Tami Stewart.

Men of Central

Put Saturday, March 3^rd on your calendars to be at the church from 9am until 1pm. We are going to gather for a few hours to get some chores done around the building then come together for lunch. There will be jobs of all types so anyone can do this. Bring a friend and your appetite. Brian has a list of jobs that are mostly inside, so no need to get all bundled up.

Holy Week Services — Monday-Friday, April 2nd-6th at Oakley Chapel in Rogers from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m.

Maundy Thursday Service — April 5th at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary

Easter Egg Hunt — Saturday, April 7th from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m.

EASTER SUNDAY, April 8th — Regular Services Times (8:30, 9:00, & 11:00 / Sunday School at 10:00)

Greeters Needed

We are in need of volunteers to meet and greet worshipers. By volunteering just one Sunday a month you could make a great difference in the life of your church. Next Sunday, February 12^th at 12:30 p,m., there will be a greeter’s organizational meeting and luncheon. If you would consider joining the greeter team, please contact Rev. We had a wonderful turnout for the informational meeting held on Sunday, January 29. Full color brochures are available at Ruth’s desk in the Church Office. Find out about our Methodist roots through the life and legend of the Father of Methodism, John Wesley. Visit the sites from his home in London to The New Room in Bristol, the world’s oldest Methodist building. Throughout the journey, Carness will be teaching about the relationship of the age-old Wesleyan tradition and our modern United Methodist beliefs. Lenten Schedule:

Ash Wednesday Worship – February 22^nd, 6:30 pm in the Sanctuary (immediately following Wednesday Night Live! dinner). Come join us for a powerful evening of worship as we repent of our sins, reflect on our own brokenness, and renew our hearts. We will be joining together in the imposition of ashes as a sign of our repentance and God’s forgiveness.

Lenten Sermon Series: Catching a Heart for God

We will spend the six Sundays leading up to Easter discovering the characteristics of Christ that can heal our broken hearts. These discoveries will lead us all the way to the cross and the empty tomb as we “catch” Christ’s compassion, love, mercy, and other traits. Then on Easter Sunday, April 8^th, join us as we celebrate the risen Savior who brings healing to our brokenness and light to our darkness. This is a day of worship you will not want to miss!

Lesson One from Mission Team!

Our trip began with a flight delay due to weather! the good new is that the connecting flight was also delayed- we finally arrived 3 hours late! Patience is lesson number one (this will be a refresher lesson during the week I am sure!).

Sometimes the most awesome things can happen while we are waiting. God can allow us to see, hear, understand, and desire things we may miss in our busy lives. So we wait- sometimes even when we don't want to. God is going to do great things with our mission team this week. I can't wait!
