ABOUT THIS CLASS: UNITED METHODIST HERITAGE

Explore a basic explanation of the beliefs and practices of the United Methodist Church as defined in Part II of The Book of Discipline. Uncover a deeper understanding and experience of Christian faith as you embrace the United Methodist way.

Living Our Beliefs is essential reading for prospective members, new members and long time members alike! As one reviewer says, "Bishop Carder invites us to both understand and live our beliefs. With deep understanding of Wesley's teaching, he inspires us to practice what we preach. That is the United Methodist way."

PREP & HOMEWORK:

Before our class meets, please purchase the book Living Our Beliefs: The United Methodist Way by Kenneth L. Carder.  It is available from Cokesbury [www.cokesbury.com or by calling 800-672-1789] and from other sellers. 1.  The history of my local United Methodist Church, concluding with why I am proud of my church's heritage.

Or

2.  My family's religious heritage, concluding with how it has influenced who I am today.
